Lazy or busy....you judge

I'm assuming most people who read this know that I am a bit of a procrastinator and put things off until the last minue almost all the time. With that said, I've been slacking here on break...as has been noticed by my complete failure to post. Some of my excuses are legit, you know, actually being busy at this time of year...but then again, it doesn't actually take all that long to let you (my reading audience) informed on the mundane events of my life. So, before everyone jumps on the procrastinating, lazy bandwagon, allow me to explain my recent days and then honestly give me a chance.

Home on Thursday (2ish), out to eat, then back home to watch Home Alone, shower and bed.
Friday, sleep in, biscuits and gravy breakfast, into Evansville, shopping, Shyler's, shopping, home, play Madden football, then bed.
Christmas Eve, sleep in, help a little around the house, games, then church, off to a church members for some gathering, then home to visit with my brother and sis-in-law, then exchange immediate family gifts...then bed.
Christmas Day, church, then get the house ready for Mom's side of the family, then late lunch, exchange gifts, played Scene-It (my brother and I ended undefeated 3-0), watched some movie (I think), then off to bed.
Monday, hung around home, played video games, watched some soccer, got smoked by my brother at some bored...oops, I mean board game, then off to Evansville, for shopping, Shyler's, and then bowling, back late, then bed.
Tuesday...ok so Tuesday I didn't really do anything, some laundry and video games
Today, off to Terre Haute (the future residence of my parents) to look at a potential house, Cracker Barrel supper, then home, tried to sub (noone wanted me...I'm trying not to take it personal, but it's hard), played video games, then watched TV up until now.

See my days have been jammed. Still, I'll admit, I'm a bit lazy. Anyway, I'll update on my full Christmas list haul after Dad's side on this Friday.

Belated Merry Christmas...and an early Happy New Year

Football News

With recent Colts excitement in Indy, and my constant playing of Madden football, I've opted to talke a little about football today. So the Colts finally lost yesterday in a relatively mediocre showing. They had some good flashes of brilliance in the 2nd half, but never played like they are capable of. I've been saying the Chargers are a team that should not be overlooked. Oh well, move on, get better and win the Super Bowl. That's the ultimate goal anyway, right? Still undefeated would have been sweet.

In Madden news, I have just finished my second undefeated season and super bowl victory. I play with a fantasy drafted Steelers team headed by Michael Vick. The HB position has been a constant rotation and I am still looking for a solid back to gain 3-4 ypc (currently Willis McGahee is my starter). I have a pretty stout defense which keeps me in most games. I've upped the difficulty the second season and had some close games. I think with my drafts and having to lose some of my better players due to salary cap issues, my teams will get worse and the rest of the league improves, so I'll keep the difficulty where it's at. I had 9 draft picks in this past draft (due to trades) and I hope my rookies improve quickly and can become solid players. That would be nice. Anyway, I'll let you know when I turn in my 3rd undefeated season....

A Small Rant

I've been working 30+ hrs/wk at CVS the past 2 1/2 weeks and it's been long enough for me to remember some of my pet peeves about retail pharmacy. I'm keeping in mind that I only have 3 more shifts until I get my Christmas Break (Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday...I can't wait to be done). Anyway, I've decided to clue you in on one of my peeves.

Here it is. Other Techs going print crazy with prescriptions. Simply put, after a prescription/refill is processed, it needs to be printed, then filled, then checked (that's the order of things at CVS). Here's how I do it. I print one person/family's prescriptions. Get the medicine, count it, label it, and give it to the Pharmacist to check, then move on to the next one. CVS allows for 3 families to be printed at a time. Just because it is allowed, does not mean it has to be done. Some techs will hop over and print 3-4 families and then scatter to do something else. So here I am with labels for multiple people and know idea what's going on. Then I have to work around the printing tech to get this filled and as soon as one is done, he/she will print another group. It is annoying. I feel like I have know idea who/what is being filled and that I am just an automated person. My way at least feels like I know who has had meds filled, what they were and has some order.

Oh well, maybe when I'm running my own store (not owning, but working in) I can get a system down. Until then....only three more shifts.

Two posts in two days...hehe.

Another Week goes by...

OK, so my slacking continues. Here's my excuse (whether you want it or not). I'm working odd hours at CVS and bowling twice a week. Plus, I've had things going on the past two weekends that further my difficulty getting online. Again, dial-up as my primary source of internet access also adds to my excuse. Oh well, you'll just have to deal with it. I should be home for my Christmas break next Thursday (just over a week away) and post slightly more regularly.

Biggest recent news: My dad has been reappointed to a Terre Haute, effective February 1st. There are some pluses to the move, but as with any change, some minuses. But it's not my place to make pros and cons due to the lessened impact on me personally. I'm pretty much out of the house, especially after this christmas when my room is all packed up and to remain in boxes until I figure out where I'm going next year.

Speaking of which, all applications have been turned in and transcripts requested to be sent. In other words, I'm now in a holding pattern and just waiting to hear. Time will tell.

Prayers appreciated for my family (and the pending move) and for my choice of grad school. Note, this aren't immediate requests, but something to keep in mind over the next couple of months...thanks.

2 weeks...man, I'm a slacker

Wow, it has been quite an absence since my last posting. 2 weeks. That's crazy. Anyway, I'm back and I'm here to post. Let me get the prerequisite excuse out of the way. Since I'm off rotations and no longer have hi-speed internet on a daily basis, I have solely dial-up and do not get online much and not for extended periods of time (30 minutes for e-mail is about it). So, what's up with me? Well, I've been bowling fairly well recently. I still play video games (not much in the past week though). I have turned in my online applications to grad schools. I now have to get transcripts out (which I'm planning on doing today). And I'm working 30+ hrs/wk at CVS. All of that is enough to keep me busy. Today, I do have a day off, but am at Methodist hospital (hence the hi-speed ability to post) and will be working on my PharmD project in the morning and running errands in the afternoon.

So, time to work.... Hopefully I won't have such a delay between posts again.
