Super Bowl Thoughts...And Top 5 Commercials.

My apologize for my lack of posting, but I'm back and will hopefully get back into the swing of regular posts. With that said, let me enlighten you with my thoughts about SuperBowl XLIII....

First, what a game! That was an awesome 4th quarter. Initially, I was afraid of a blowout when Pittsburgh took the opening drive and scored with relative ease. Arizona turned it around, but again, I became worried when James Harrison (LB, Pit) had the 100 yard interception return and Pittsburgh lead 17-7 at the half.

I kept wondering when Arizona was going to get Larry Fitzgerald (arguably the best WR in the game today) involved. Shortly after I had this thought for about the 14th time, Fitzgerald made an appearance. Guess what happened? The Cardinals scored, and then scored again. Suddenly we had a ball game, and the set up for a great finish.

Final thoughts. The catch by Santonio Holmes (WR, Pit) for the game winner was amazing, and was good (two feet down and possession). I do think we (the fans) were robbed of a potential great final play by a terrible call on the final play. Ruling on the field was a fumble by Kurt Warner (QB, Ari) when he was hit while throwing. It appeared to me that he was in the act of passing, and the ruling should have been an incomplete pass. At a minimum we should have seen a Hail Mary pass with a chance for the W. How can the official not at least review that play? Why not take 5 minutes to look it over? Oh well, a great game and congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers...and mad-props to Arizona Cardinals, way to turn it around.

Now for the commercials. There were some good ones, some mediocre, and a fair number of wastes of money (seriously Budweiser, what was up with your Clysdale commercials this year...dumb). Anyway, here are my top 5 commercials from the SuperBowl.

5. Mr. and Mrs. Potato-head by Bridgestone

When Mrs. Potato-head loses her lips, and then switches her eyes...that was quality.

4. One Second Commercial by Miller High Life

This one was set up by a commercial (ran over the previous few weeks) making fun of other people for spending $3 mil on a 3o sec. spot. I loved it.

3. Save Money by Bud Light

The first big laugh of the day.

2. Cyrstal Ball - by Doritos

Hilarious commercial.

And my favorite SuperBowl commercial...

1. Baby at the Country Club by Etrade

Immediately followed the game and was my favorite of the night. "Subsidize your lack of golfing skills. " "Read the rules, Shankopotamus." I was rolling after this one.
